About the Metaplex Airdrop

Metaplex DAO has announced Season 1 of its community rewards initiative, allocating $250,000 worth of $MPLX tokens to users of the Metaplex App. At the current MPLX token price of $0.03227, this is equivalent to approximately 7.74 million MPLX tokens.. This comes after Metaplex previously conducted its Early Bird airdrop in September 2022, where a total of 40,000,000 MPLX tokens were distributed to early Solana NFT creators, developers, and ecosystem contributors.

The Season 1 campaign is powered by Torque Protocol for reward tracking and multiplier mechanics. It introduces engagement-based rewards for interacting with spotlight projects inside the Metaplex App.

Unlike a traditional wallet snapshot airdrop, this program operates through a leaderboard and activity-based model. Users earn rewards by actively participating in ecosystem interactions within the app, with multipliers applied to specific spotlight activities.

The leaderboard and detailed participation mechanics are expected to be released soon. The distribution structure suggests competitive allocation rather than fixed rewards per wallet.
