ZKsync has launched a Staking Pilot Program as part of its ZKnomics roadmap to test staking infrastructure and strengthen governance participation. Season 1 began on February 9, 2026 and will run until early May 2026, distributing up to 10 million ZK tokens to participants.
Rewards are earned by staking ZK tokens using a Delegate-to-Stake model. Users must delegate tokens to an Active Delegate, defined as a participant who has voted in at least two of the last five governance proposals. Rewards accrue continuously and are distributed over 30-day epochs.
The staking program targets 400 million ZK staked and allows full flexibility—users can stake or unstake at any time with no lockups. APR begins at approximately 3% and may adjust weekly based on participation levels, with a targeted range up to 10%.
If the pilot proves successful, Season 2 is planned for Q2 2026 with a larger reward allocation of 25 million ZK, indicating a longer-term staking incentive strategy.
